Frequently Asked Questions
How can I join?
To join SAI, you must have completed a full semester at your current institution and must be enrolled in or have completed at least one music course. You must also attend at least one recruitment event or speak with our Vice President of Membership.
Are you part of Greek life?
While SAI is a Greek-named organization, we are a professional fraternity, not a social fraternity. SAI is a part of the Professional Fraternity Association.
Why are you a fraternity?
SAI is a fraternity whose collegiate membership is open to women, not a sorority. This is because there are honorary positions of membership available to men.
Do I have to be a music major to join?
Not at all! SAI welcomes collegiate students of any major.
How much does it cost to join?
For a new member, it costs $300 to join. $50 is due at pledging and the rest is paid before initiation. This cost covers your pin, your membership books, your certification and your dues. The cost is $75 each school year for returning members. This cost covers both local and national dues.
When are meetings?
Our chapter meets Sunday evenings each week. If you are unable to make these meetings, speak with an executive member to try to work out a compromise.
