Annalies WettsteinYear in School: Sophomore
Major(s)/Minor(s): Sociology Major, Women's and Gender Studies Minor, Anthropology Minor Instrument(s): Voice Ensemble(s): Bradley Chorale, Bradley Community Choir Hometown: Washington, IL Why did you join SAI? I decided to join SAI because I loved the idea of being a part of a supportive group of musicians that I could learn from, collaborate with, and share my love and appreciation for music with! Why did you decide to go to Bradley? I decided to go to Bradley because of the incredible Sociology and Music departments. While I'm not a music major, I was still looking for a smaller university that would allow me to focus on learning and growing academically, while also being able to get involved with multiple on-campus organizations, including the various choirs. Why did you choose your major(s)/minor(s)? I chose to major in Sociology because I have always been interested in inequality in terms of where it comes from and how/why it is perpetuated throughout our culture. Within Sociology, I also get to learn about how gender, sexuality, and race play such large roles into how we interact with each other and with various communities. Plans after graduation? I have yet to decide on what I would like to do after graduation, but I have so many options as Sociology is such a broad field. However, my favorite plan as of right now is to go on to a Graduate program to study Education Curriculum and how this can create necessary social change. With my Masters, I dream of creating a way to include diversity education in public school curriculums as early as primary school. Even with this hefty goal, I would love to continue singing in a community choir wherever I end up! Favorite college memory? My favorite memory so far is of the Spring 2023 Bradley Chorale tour to Colorado! Favorite SAI memory? My favorite SAI memory is the Spring Formal we hosted with Phi Mu Alpha in 2023! It was a great way to end the semester and have fun with all the friends I made during my first year in college :) |
